Meyers Chick Problems?

We too had an order from Meyer, from what I could gather there are some significant issues with the Cleveland PO distribution center. I tracked a few orders that appeared to be stuck there for quite a long time. It's too bad, does not appear to be Meyer. I also disagree that all stress is apparent day 1. If you get through an entire week there may be some truth to that, but the first few days or more can still be an issue if they get too dehydrated or hot/cold.

I picked up two sets of chicks from Meyer this year, one at the end of March, and one June 15. Since we didn't deal with the PO (because I didn't want to worry about transit issues) we got them while they were still very young. In the first set one was still very sleepy while the others were peeping and moving around most of the way home. 100% were fine (and in the first order all were pullets, the second order the jury is still out, but it looks like they are all pullets too). They even had a heat pack to stay warm while waiting for pickup. So when people have problems with Meyer, I don't think it's Meyer, I think it is the PO. Which is sad for Meyer because their website is easy to use, their selection is good, and the chicks seem to leave them healthy.
