So one more question. My coops nesting boxes are raised like a foot off the ground or even a bit more. Then on the way out of the coop there is like a 8 inch drop to get where food and water is. Can I just put a 2x4 on both drops for the chicks to get back into the nesting box and coop? Or is there something else I should do.

Yeah, I'd put in some steps. They have to be able to easily reach food and water. Keep a close eye on them so you can spot any issues immediately.

Okay cool, then I will just secure a 2x4 ramp on both spots and watch them a lot tomorrow to see if they can use it.
