Just go with it we cant completely duplicate what a mother hen can do, Trust the lockdown procedure stop turning , raise the humidity and wait, Dont risk doing anything else. Unless your a hen of course

Yeah of course. I still do stop turning them and crank the humidity and all that but mostly i'm curious if anybody knows how and why turning them after day 18 effects them.

During the last 3 days (lockdown) the chick gets into position to hatch and pip into the air sac. If you turn the eggs during this period it may cause the chick to end up malpositioned and unable to pip and hatch successfully.

6/8 of my eggs have pipped! Unfortunately though Ive got to go to bed so I will probably miss it. Although I would be quite happy to wake up to a nest full of chicks!!
