Mice and rats in hanging feeder

Im doing just that in terms of traps. Traditional victors and also easy empty. But using peanut butter. I will give that grain bait a try. Im really not even getting a nibble. The plastic bag did work but is a nuisance. I will probanly just take it down each night and buy a metal can to pit it in. Thanks for all the suggestions. Funny how freaked out the pullets got when they saw that white plastic bag. They came running as soon as i went in to take it off

I currently use a metal feeder which is suspended from the coop roof. At night after chickens go into the enclosed coop area I lift the feeder off the ground with a chain and secure it til morning. The feeder is covered with a dish but the troigh still has food in it. Every morning i still find moise poops in it. Tonight i secured the.feeder within a plastic garbage bag before hanging it. Thoughts? I have traps set outside the coop but so far nothing. Maybe i will find one in the bag in morningView attachment 1756372
Put a dome on top of your feeder, something like an Elizabethan dog collar. The plastic will be too slippery When they climb down the the chain.

Even when I used pnut butter I used chunky and stuffed a chunk of peanut into the trigger....after finding most the PB licked off the trigger. SMH.
Might be worth trying the bucket trap too..successful here for a few rounds and caught multiples in one night.
