Mice eating chickens ! And I eat their eggs ?

If the mice had worms, couldn't the chickens get worms from eating them? I know birds can get worms, so that seems likely. And I'm sure a lot of wild mice had worms, which is why stray cats often have worms..... honestly, I would not let my pets eat them. It might cost a lot in vet bills if the mice do indeed give them worms. I'd use live traps and release the mice far away in the woods.

Mice don't carry as much disease as people think. I live in middle of nowhere. We have mice everywhere. I find one in the house on probably a weekly basis. I kept a pair of field mice as pets for awhile as a kid. I've actually not heard of anything getting sick from having local mice and rats around except in the case of commercial farms where there is already a high concentration of animals and a high potential for illness.

Parasites are possible but parasites are really everywhere. Whether they actually get enough to be harmful and considered an infestation depends on the concentration of your animals and their exposure to feces both their own and other animals. The more animals you have and the smaller area they are in the higher your parasite load whether that's wild or domestic animals. Anything your chickens eat could have parasites even just the grass will contain parasite eggs or larvae if you have other livestock leaving manure in the area or wild animals about. It's not possible to keep them 100% parasite free. Even humans each carry a few parasites despite the fact few want to acknowledge it. You'd have to lock them in the coop only eating cleaned feeds and disinfecting daily if you want to keep them from encountering such things. It's not rational. A good dewormer will solve your problem while they have fun eating a good protein source.

I wouldn't feed those to any animal.. they're greasy and just not healthy for them. Boiled chicken, sure, but not fried nuggets from Mcdonalds.

I agree. People are silly about rats/mice and others animals considered "pests". They think they're all carrying some deadly disease and some people even think you can get rabies from a wild mouse

I guess I'd be most worried if the mice may have eaten poison. Around hear, alot of mice and people trying to poison them. If a chicken eats a poisoned mouse, what will happen to the chicken???
