I’m looking for breeders in Michigan. I’d like to try purchasing from breeders as opposed to hatcheries if possible. I’m in Central Michigan area but willing to travel.

What kind of breeders are you looking for, and why?

Are you looking for specific breeds? Or particular types? (example: dual-purpose breeds, or heritage meat breeds, or show-quality bantams, or maybe you want geese or ducks or turkeys or guineas rather than just chickens?)

Do you want show-quality chickens? Birds bred to the Standard of Perfection? Birds bred to traditional meat production standards for their breed? Locally-produced birds that did not need to be sent through the mail? (A commercial hatchery within driving distance of your home might work in that specific case, but probably not for the others.)
