michigan chicken fanciers

Woah, just noticed this link! I'm Keyt (Kate) and I'm from Eaton Rapids. It's 20 miles S. of Lansing. My bf Aric and I grew up with chickens as kids, but just starting out with our own. We have 43 chickens, everything from Belgian Quails (for sale) and Australorps. Also have 4 young call ducks and 2 young cayuga ducks. This doesn't count the 3 dogs and 4 kids (well 2 are almost) in their 20's! Whew, it's a LOT lol.

So, HI EVERYONE!!!

Hello from Mayville, Mi

I'm new to this site and raising chickens -we currently have 12 hens that we purchased from the local TSC store early this spring. More my husband and 2 of my kids idea. Would like some ideas on what needs to be done to winterize our coop. OK this may be a super silly question -but will they walk on snow? Do you need to keep their chicken run free of snow?

Like I said this is all new to me not real sure what needs to be done.

I live in Columbiaville and I am new to breeding chickens but i am very excited to start. I am working with silkies, bantam cuckoo and wc black polish, bantam OEGs, Mille fleur booted bantams, and standard FBC marans. I will be offering these breeds for sale next spring but i would like to start finding people who would like some in the spring now so i kinda have an idea as to how many i need to hatch ( i dont want an overload of chicks that knowone wants:p. I can get some pics and prices upon request. They are pick-up only, but i can make arangements to meet but it will cost more. Thanks:)

The rir/ white rock mixes are really pretty and really good egg layers. They are 1 dollar each or best offer. I can sell six RIR/WR at a time and about 8-10 at a time for the RIR RIR/WR mixes or 12 for the ducks so there at there freshest. I live in Clumbiaville, Michigan and PICK-UP ONLY.

Hi Michiganders!
I am in Grand Rapids. I have one hen left, she is in my profile photo! She is 18 months and a Belgium D'Uccle Mille Fleur. I am looking for a home to spoil her. She is fat, feathered, lays every day and is super tame - raised in my kitchen! Call Nancy 616-634-1841

Hello Everyone!
My name is Cheryl and I'm from Caro. I just became the 4-H Poultry Superintendent for Tuscola County. Very nervous & I have A LOT to learn but it will be fun.
Chickens I have are:2 Isa Browns, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 6 Dominques, 2 Heritage Delawares, Silver Phoenix pair, 4 OEG's, 4 silver laced Wyandottes, 1 golden laced Wyandotte, 6 Blue laced Red Wyandottes, 1 bantam polish, trio of bantam lavender Ameracaunas, & 6 Dominque/ Phoenix crosses. Oops!
Someday I just might figure out my favorite breed and stick with it... but I doubt it.

I also have 3 fawn & white runners, 4 pastel calls, & 2 East Indies.

My youngest wants Silkies for fair this year and he's 7. Anyone have good quality Silkies for sale?
