Michigan Chickenstock!!! Lansing area, August 1!!!

Ours are doing great

The smaller one is VERY laid back. Cassidy walks around with her, and she is very content with that. The other one only cares where her brooder mate is LOL If she is not in the brooder with her she is hellbent on finding her.... Once she has located her buddy she settles in, and is content as can be. They are a riot to watch.

Thanks again Shelley!

It sounds like they're doing great, bluemoon. It made me so happy just to see the smile on your daughter's face when she saw those chicks...it makes everything I'm doing worthwhile. Please keep me updated on their progress. I definitely want pics when they get older.

Ohhh she's been snapping pics left and right LOL She loves the BCM's and olive eggers from Wynette too, but she wanted those silkies LOL. I've got a ton of pictures already!

A few of us ( including myself won the wooden chickens). Opa won the grand prize, and I know I'm missing some folks who got other prizes.

I'm so sorry for being such a scatter-brain, LMC.

The hatch date for your baby was 6/17. I'm glad you're enjoying the little darling. Please keep me updated on her progress.

Now...to find out who won those door prizes at chickenstock...

No worries at all. Everyone was super busy! He/she is currently living with two turkey poults that I brought home the same day from Babzoo. They are all the same size so it worked out great and they get along wonderfully. A bunch of little cuddle-bugs

I'll be sure to send you pics as he/she starts to get older and more feathered out.

As you can tell we haven't determined the perfect name for he/she yet, darn. Sometimes that perfect name just doesn't come right away.

Michelle, if you read back a few pages, you'll find what you're looking for....

Everyone, thanks for all the thank-you's and PM's about Chickenstock, but I couldn't have done it without your help! It was for sure a group effort! I'm glad it went well, and that folks had fun. We've got ideas on making it even better next time!

Do we want to make the first Saturday of every August the "yearly" mid-MI Chickenstock, at the same venue? Then, we could have get-togethers at other times as well....?

I'm so glad little Shadow & Fudge are doing well, Frankenchick! I'm glad we were able to make it work!!

Bluemoon, glad to hear the babies are doing well!

I have ton of pics of those too

The olive egger REALLY wants to go in the brooder with the silkies. I just caught her again trying to get in there

They do look like fluffy pillows so I guess I can't blame her.

I've got to go construct a bigger wire top now! She's an escape artist!

I forgot to mention...We got our first blue egg yesterday

Merle our easter egger finally laid an egg yesterday afternoon. It's small, but a pretty minty blue color. She also looked very confused afterwards. Poor thing.

So now we have two laying eggs

Greta has had two double yolked eggs in a row this week, and still going strong.
