Hey Sarah...the little black frizzle hen isn't broody anymore either! A change in scenery must've changed their hormones.

Please tell Emily (again) "thank you" for her. My son has a whole gang of frizzles, and each one of them is named "Puff Puff". This new hen is called "Big Puff Puff". He just loves her!

Michelle-
That is great about the hen. Maybe they will both start laying again! Emily had that one named Rizzo, after the lady in Grease.

Congrats to the winners!!!!

The girls are spoiling their new pets too!

Frankenchick: We can sell you some bantam eggs if your daughter wants to try hatching them out.

!!!!!! So glad you posted the recipe, now I'll have a whole pan to myself!!!

You missed out!!! They were so delicious.
I will try to get my pics downloaded tonight or tomorrow and get them up soon.

I agree, they looked awesome and I was so excited until I found out they had coconut in them!! Probably the ONE thing I don't eat!!

I did eat some other yummy deserts though, including some rasberry cream cheese brownies!!

I have the 2 apple butter recipes that I told Granny that I would get for her. Crystal also wanted me to share so should I post it here or somewhere else?
I am the only one who eats coconut here which is why I don't like to make these too much, I would have to eat the whole pan myself.

Here is the one with Jack Daniels:

Apple Butter
50 ea. apples
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
2 cups Jack Daniels whiskey
2 lbs brown sugar
Core apples. Place in hotel pan. Mix rest of ingredients together and pour over apples. Cover with parchment paper and foil. Bake for 2 hours. Put through food mill. Adjust seasoning.

Sorry you couldn't make it to chickenstock. Maybe next time. You could always leave a day early and stay the night here since it's a long drive.
