The splash cochin is from us. She has never been with a roo before. Glad that she is not broody anymore, she was that way for months! Along with her friend the black frizzle cochin.
Enjoy her!
She was Emily's showmanship bird. Emily has moved on to call ducks.
Hey guys - IMPORTANT! In my "newbiness" for organizing events, I completely forgot to pick two members for the gracious GFMs that Nifty-Chicken donated! We have two Golden Feather Memberships to give away! I should have raffled them off, but just completely forgot to. SHAME ON ME!
Anyway, I still have the bag of folded up User IDs on slips of paper...why I saved them, I don't know...but the problem is that I put them all back in together, and I don't want to pick someone that already won a door prize.
So...I'll pick 2 names from the bags now - and you need to let me know if you already won a door prize, okay? Then, I'll let Rob know who the gifts went to! (you can keep for yourself, extend your current GFM memberhsip, or gift it to someone else).
Okay, I had my friend Tina here at work pick out the User IDs from the bag:

Okay, let me know ASAP if you already won a door prize so we can choose another name. THANKS, and so sorry for the inconvenience!
I went to the Lansing Chickenstock Saturday, intending to buy a couple chicks for my setting hen, Daisy. There was only one left by the time I made up my mind, so I got Fudge, a BLW.
Long story short, Daisy rejected Fudge and now poor Fudge is lonely and driving us crazy with incessant yelling. I'm hoping to find a pal for Fudge so everyone can be happy. As much as I enjoy him/her, sitting around holding a lonely chick is not getting my garden weeded, the house cleaned, or the shopping done! Naturally, my DD (who'd hold a chick all day) is gone for the week.
** We had a great time; it's fun to put names to faces (even tho' I'm terrible at names!). My DS now wants to get a Rhinelander rabbit, and my DD wants to raise bantams.
