What did you name your chicks ?

A favorite memory was when my kids were young, they named my mom's favorite barred rock hen "Fence". Why? Nobody knows. But, they were not constrained by expectations and I thought it was fantastic.

I tried themed names but because they weren't very meaningful to me, they tended to get forgotten. So now I think I will just let them earn whatever names they get.

So the way i name my birds is a little different.

I dont just settle on a name, the name just kind of happens.

when they start getting older and getting bigger their personalities shine through more and more and their names usually correspond with their personalities.

my rooster named jack

short for jack the ripper (he has favorite hens ifykyk)

My buff Cochin is apricot and my laced Cochin is magpie lol
