I decided I'm loading my bator with mix breed eggs March 1st. I'll have a bunch of Marans mixes and EE mixes available when they hatch.

Is there a way you can post a "sticky" here showing people willing to be contacted to sell their chicks/eggs/adults of specific breeds?

We will be breeding Iowa Blue chickens, the silver pencil variety and if all goes well we should have some chicks by the time of Chickenstock.

DH and I are looking to add a couple of Marans (black or blue copper or one of each) for the darker brown eggs. We would like chicks since right now I do not have a 'bator....that may change though

. Also need to have pullets of course because we have a breeding program for Iowa's and our other flock of mismatched pullets/EE rooster. With a lady Maran's and our EE rooster, we may even get an olive egger ?

After we separate our EE's and Iowa's for breeding I will have great, healthy fertile eggs at the very least. If we discover our not year old flock yet has a broody then we will have chicks too !

I think we can do that, just not *here*. Maybe in the breeder/hatchery section? Pretty sure the buying/selling has to take place via pm or we'll get moved to the bst forum.

Thanks for the info. I have so far PM'd anyone who has responded they may have available stock

locally. It is best for those who only want a couple or few birds as hatchery amounts are prohibitive for most with small backyard flocks as you know. I can have up to 50 where I am but need to build up slowly now that I am going into a rare breed myself.
