Not a bad day...I came home to my last chick hatched....so I ended up with 8 out of the 14 that made it to lockdown.

Yep I knew, saw it the Marans hatching thread.

Just rolled my eggs and candled them and all 43 have very active babies in them. At 8 days so far, they look promising!

Watch them grow some, pick out my keepers and sell the rest. tryin to improve type on my flock and color also have a chocolate cochin project I giving a try. Have 4 so far of them from my 1st hatch 2 weeks ago. Plus have a few folks wanting to buy chicks.

@mindylee have to do final count and pics tomorrow but these chicks are so cute. just what I needed. Pretty sure I have close to 20. Feisty little things. One charges my hand everytime I put in brooder. Lol. Little turd.

Nooo, this is it. Don't have room hardly to keep the ones I have. Would like to tho, it's pretty fascinating.

Have got 2 in the brooder, they were just too wild in the bator, one was chewing on toes, not letting go and drawing blood.
4 in the bator, all very mellow and another pip as of this morning.

Am also going to splurge on the Welsummer I've been wanting, breeder near me has 2 week olds I'm picking up Sunday....and I'm probably going to get a couple EE pullets first week of April. Will be going to school on integration this year ...lol!
