Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Still going srong with blue and blk mottleds being hatched out.

Woke up this morning to the only calico dead. And was replaced with several more mottleds born.

Apparently this is a mottled hatch instead of a mix with calicos! Lol!

20 more eggs to go...

Does anyone have any fertile muscovie duck eggs or fertile guinnea hen eggs they are willing to ship.. i will be in saginaw on april 2nd.. if someone is close to there.. i can pick up.. i will pay for shipping, i can trade eggs.. i have leghorn, australorp,rir,isa over ee roo.. they are pretty fertile eggs.. really would like to try hatch some duck eggs.. if you can help me out that would be great.. plz plz..

I'm also interested in Muscovy eggs. I did find a lady, not here on the BYC, that lives up in Tawas City. She is on the Michigan Poultry and Hatching Eggs facebook site.

Nope not at all. But ill keep his daughter's and cross them with my calicos so he will forever live on in my barn. Hopefully he passed his small size to them as I really like his size.

rchd - i know who your talking about. i have already messaged her, she is just now segregating her muscovies.. and i kinda wanted the eggs this week coming up.. she has some beautiful muscovie ducks.. I have sold some chickens to her last yr.

Oh okay, that's makes feel good about deciding to buy from her. I searched very hard for BYCers that sold eggs but most would have to ship them very long distance and I've already had an upsetting hatch last year from LD shipped eggs. I wish I could drive and get them but its just too far. I don't understand why they aren't more popular, they are absolutely beautiful birds that lay decently well and are great for meat, what more could you ask for?

Gratz!! I can't imagine having that many chicks, where do you keep them all? Got pics?

Stupid phone wont let me post pics!

I have a 3x6 double walled chick brooder that I built in my barn that way they can live outside. Soon as chicks are fluffy, out they go.
I just put a plywood wall to divide newborns and month olds.

I also dont keep all of them... I do sell off some and only retain a few for future breeders. ♡
