my eggs are going into lockdown tonight.. i didnt ad any water to the bator for the first 18 day.. will bring humidity up when they go into lockdown..

Lost my last born baby today (pure chocolate english orpington)
It had leg issue and found hit dead in water bowl...
It wasn't ment to be... but everybody else is doing awesome and I just love baby peeps all fuzzy and chasing my fingers when I reach in their brooder! Too cute!

i just went into lockdown.. set 24 eggs, 7 not fertile, rest look really good all with movement..so now i wait.. filled the resevoirs with warm water..

I did same at lock down and I had a better hatch rate vrs doing instruction rules the 1st time.

Next eggs will go under broodies next week ;-)

thank you ml, i filled the resivoir w/water my temp is holding 101 and humidity is 55.. going perfect.. hope it stays that way

Getting ready to lockdown tonight for our 1st batch ever of incubating. Just candled them

I have these 2 that I think I should just toss? They were always clear up until this week, then I noticed an air cell in both. The last image is what the rest of the eggs look like. I haven't seen any movement but did see veining in my earlier attempts at candling so hopping we get some successful hatches!

All eggs have the air cell, and they will enlarge even if the embryo doesn't develop...I'd toss em.
