Michigan Hatchers! What'cha got cookin?

Pics
The next batch-to-be. Will put in the incubator tomorrow. Oliver eggs that I think are from my white EE (she stopped molting and these appeared) and Wheaten Maran eggs from Ladyrsanti :). I am so excited! Going to try the turning the entire incubator and only open it on day 10 to candle the eggs and day 18 to put in lockdown.

I need to get a picture of the SFH chicks.

toss the two eggs, their no good. actually i microwaved mine because those are infurtile and feed back to chickens.. there is no development..

we have 2 pips..

i had a guy give me 3 toulouse goose eggs, 6 green chicken eggs, 1 silky egg, 1 turkey egg.. my dd wants to do a hatch all on her own with all those eggs. she will take responsibility for all of them.. i told her she can.. so will see.. will set them when this hatch is over..
no autamatic turner, she will have to turn them everyday.. I know she can do it.. weve been doing this together since we started, and she knows the system.. so i think she will do fine.

Glad you tossed the first two eggs :)

X 2 on the chickie pics
I hope the DD has good success on the eggs Naglady!

candy thank you.. she has been involved in all the hatches.. the incubator is always set up in her room..

I have 4 chicks that hatched over night..and also more pips..

lazy - emily is 12, she has done this 7 times, and i really dont have to check on eggs everyday because i know she watches them also.. she knows what to do in every situation.. we have been hatching partners and always worked as a team.

I had a wierd situation in the incubator.. i checked on the eggs, and i had a chick zip way at the bottom of the egg, and the egg was opened a little bit, i saw the back of his legs.. was not what i was used to seeing.. took me a minute to figure it out.. so i reached in incubator as fast as i could and lift top of egg off, and the baby chick zipped the shell and lifted it upside
down.. so i turned it right side up.. what a strong buggar.. he is doing good.. havent seen him walk but will see how it does.. you never know whats going to happen from egg to egg.. wonder if because i did a all dry hatch that that made him have more room to work his magic..
