Only 8 more eggs and I can put the whole lot of them into the incubator! Should happen Sunday afternoon at the latest! Oh, and I had an epiphany today about how to keep all my varieties straight even though I only have a divider to make 4 areas: put the silkies in one area with some LF chicks! Easy peasy! Feathered legs will be a dead giveaway.

I can't wait to follow along on that hatch!
Has anyone successfully candled guinea eggs? I can't really see anything and I'm not sure if they aren't developing or I just can't see through the shell well enough.

No idea. I hope someone can help. I had a green duck egg we couldn't see into either and made the hard decision to toss it

The guinea egg I couldn't tell anything but the duck eggs 11 out of 12 had veins. I have never had such a good start with shipped eggs. It will be a noisy place if all 11 call ducks hatch!

@LoveMyChicklets what day do you plan on putting your chicken eggs in with your turkey and ducks..
i have goose and turkey eggs in right now. and want to put chicken eggs in with them, according to my figures i will be putting chicken eggs in on day 7, never did this b4, and was thinking if turkey and goose go into lockdown at day 24, and chickens day 18.. trying to time it right.. so sorry about your trio .. i would be fuming..

dd is doing a great job with this incubation, she is in charge of watching temp, and we dry incubate so thats not a big worry, i turn eggs once for her when she is in school.. but she does the rest, i want to throw chicken eggs in and she doesnt want to deal with those, so i will be in charge of turning chicken eggs, it is sure easier to have a turner in the bator, first time having to turn by hand, i think it sucks. on a good note, candled turkey and goose eggs and they have veining..

glad you can never have to many chickens, lol

The third odd hatch duckling is free but he's not as strong out of the egg as the other two. The one above is the first two. These are Ancona Pekin cross.
We had a chicken that got out of the egg and laid on its back flailing all night until the other EE egg hatched. I thought it would not survive, but it flipped over and ran to the other EE that hatched. :) I hope this one makes it for you!

The guinea eggs were shipped from California. I wanted closer but who knows how long it will be before they start laying around here. Also they had 12 different colors so it will be a surprise when they hatch. I hope since the ducks look good the guineas are doing well too. I kept thinking I might see something but it could have been me trying too hard. By the next time we candle if something is in there it should look dark.
