PK... How about a chicken kennel... So she can be in it during the day... easy to make and move. It is just typical fence you can get at the farm store... used to make runs... ect... Need about a 4x6 section, and chicken wire...

I put a peice of cardboard over the end... Can use a small tarp, old beach towel. too. There is no wood and by no means would it be safe from a stray dog. But chickens are never safe from stray dogs... BUT it will keep the rooster from pestering Spaz. You can move it around the yard easy, and use those hang on feeders and waterer that are for rabbits.

Right now I am using it for Little Pretty's poop moments. She needs to be kept safe from the other birds while she heals... this does it. She hates me right now...

I use bag balm when I get canker sores, hasn't killed me yet, I would use it on injuries around the mouth.

In a pinch...I've used bag balm as lip balm. Works great, it has awesome staying power!

About all I can do this morning is drink one cup after another. I had intended to take my boat to a marine mechanic this morning but the rain storm that rolled thru here rivaled the 4th with its pyrotechnics. Lightning lit up the sky, thunder crashed, and the it rained hard enough to strangle frogs. I haven't looked at the garden yet but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the plants have been beaten flat.

Hey all. I've got a year old German NH roo and hen pair that I need to rehome. I'd like to get something for them to help offset the feed I given them since they were chicks. The hen has went broody and the roo is very protective of her. They are heritage birds that I got from Laura (Hillbilly Hen) and I really hate to see the hen go but I want to keep them together. The roo was in with other RIR hens but I decide to segregate the NH's. The are super pretty birds. PM me if you want them.

Well it's absolutely pouring here today. And someone's dogs got into our chick coop this morning AND into one if my meat coops. I'm down 8 layer chicks and 15 meat birds. I'm really really irritated. Someone's lab and German shepherd were literally inside the chicks coop. They jumped the fence of the layer pen and then dig under the apron into my "secure" chick coop. Thank goodness the layer coop door wasn't open yet or I'm sure they'd all be gone too. Dh chased them off. He knows now that next time he needs to catch them so that we can get costs from the owners and they can pay to retrieve their unrestrained unleashed dogs. Called and left a message with animal control. I'm going to shuffle everyone around once the rain stops and lock them in. After the hawk attack and now this I almost don't want to even let them out if I'm not there to supervise.

That is awful, so sorry to hear this.

make sure you document and get pictures, and try get pictures of dogs next time if you cant catch them, that is a big loss..
i would drive around and see if i can find their home.
Good luck on finding the owners.. and hope you get reimbursed for your damages..

So since I haven't picked up my tracker yet I've been driving my dads Jeep..... Well today I got to the bank and cashed my check (to pay for the Tracker) and went back out to the Jeep......it won't start....now I'm stuck at the bank for a half hour waiting for dad to get doneworkibg a funeral (we own a funeral hone in Grant and Newaygo) so yippee to being stuck
