Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Thought maybe I can sneak my two roos in there and release them there!
I've had that thought, too.

The Polish rooster crowed right in front of my daughter yesterday. I think she understands why Penny had to go live on a farm, now.

Who has a good recipe that calls for anise? Our anise plant is on its second year, and is thriving! I have a cookie recipe, but I'm looking for more things to do with the seeds and the greens.

here's my latest chicken tractor thats going to live and work up in West Branch soon.

There's one opening in the back end where theres two perches, one higher and one lower. Theres another opening in the top that flips over, above another perch for sunning, and a very small very low perch for baby birds. I also put in one bottle with a chicken nipple. I sure hope she likes it, she wanted one earlier this summer but had no way to come get it. I'm delivering this one.

Some mornings it's little things that make it a good day. The coffee is hot and our roof doesn't leak so life is good.

One thing for sure, the next couple of days will definitely green everything up.
oh for sure, hasn't the rain been wonderful, after that horrible heat and humidity wave we had. We just got another rain Monday and got 2.5" I could get ducks again.

Hi everyone.....
Hope all is well! We've been busy as usual running here & there, doing this & that. Nothing really different has been going on in my chicken world. County fairs are going on everywhere and we've attended a few trying to support them. The rodeos are a blast but I have to say they don't compare to ones we've been to out west....still very enjoyable though!! I love the livestock barns! We watched a 4H judging on poultry. Hmmm......I could do that. Told my kids they could enter one of my chickens and I know they'd win!! lol

Quote: M. Sue, I got a neighbor who just lost a whole batch in an incubator, wanted to know if I had any fertiles, I may but I don't know, the one young rooster is attempting but some of the older gals just laugh at him, the younger ones aren't ev en laying yet, He's a beautiful DOminique. WOndering if you're getting any fertiles he might get from you. His name on here is 3For Free. He lives somewhere near or off Knight Rd.
Oh for sure, bring the kids to see Mr. Chopper!!

Great looking tractor, very well thought out.

thanks Opa, I've sold three now and altho all very similar, they all still come out very different.
It is a heavy dude, but moves easily with those little hanger things I found at Menards and put on upside down!!
I also scavenge the free wood pile TSC leaves out front and got alot of boards that look like ripped apart pallets, but with no nail holes in them at all, so they make up the top.
It was mostly made from scraps around here, except for the original 2x4x12's, I used 6 of those.

I googled Dryden, you're south of I69. I'm way further north, only 35 miles southwest of Alpena, just north of M72.. I'm guessing a bit over a 3 hour drive. Oh well, it was nice thinking someone was near me for a minute.

swampducks, where in the northeast LP are you? I am kinda in the mideast LP so you might not be too far. :)

just hafta share a pic of Chopper and some of the young Dominiques who like to steal his food. I thought I posted this up the other day but I don't see it anywhere, unless it got me in trouble and was deleted, I don't know where it went. Then again, I may have been on some other site where I posted it, my mind just don't remeber all that I do anymore. HAHAHAHAHA

I'm thinking we may want to pm some of the missing members with a link to this new MI thread. Especially the newbies may not know we still exit.

Thank you for the reminder about little things. Yesterday I was out weeding the vegetable garden when it hit me that kneeling in the dirt pulling weeds makes me feel really, really happy. I'll take that kind of happy.
