I believe culling is all in the preassure and twist, not power, ,,have not matered yet my self, usualy resorte to 2 nails in a log were the head goes, pull the feet and chop,,
DS came home from school with that technique, described it as the best way. LOL I haven't butchered any myself. I did watch a few on YouTube and I saw a really complicated/obnoxious one on Discovery Channel a few weeks back... That one was messy.
Very cute heifer! Do you think she will turn black? Nice baby either way. Groundhogs aren't that easy to trap, butfruit, canned peaches, peanut butter, and chicken scratch, have all worked for me at times. Also, dog or cat poo or another dead critter down their tunnel, then covered in dirt, can get them to move on. Mary

Did you ever feel like you've had too much coffee? Me either.
I just popped a cake in the oven for my youngest's birthday. He's 31 today. How the heck did I get old enough to have kids in their 30's?
Looks like a beautiful day in store for us in the North, have to enjoy every one we get. Probably going to do some more work on the coop today, it's time to tackle the inside.
I've been fortunate that the ground hogs here have stayed out back in the field, I've heard they can be difficult to get rid of. Hope you can get rid of the pesky thing before he causes any more damage.
I am very grossed out by mice right now. How do you get rid of mice by your chicken coops? Last night I am locking up pop doors and I sink into the ground a couple inches in front of the door. I went got a shovel and dug around to find a mouse home with at least 15 little ones in it that scurried off everywhere.
Too little to trap, don't want to poison so how do I get rid of them. If the chickens saw them they would have been done for, but I guess the mice know that.
