For culling chickens, i lay paper down, put a grocery store plastic bag in a pan.. then i lay chicken sideways on paper, stand on both the legs with one of my feet, and stand on both wings with the other. hold the head with one hand, slit the juggler just under the cheekbone with a boxcutter, and makesure the head is over the pan, and dead is done in less then a minute, will just fall asleep, hole the body when spasms, then if i am not butchering it, i wrap the chicken in the paper and put in bag, tie it up and put in garbage.
done in matter of minutes.. hope this helps..
i know the first time i tried to cull it was a disaster, now its done quick and done humanely..
I am glad you like it. It's DH's favorite. I don't remember how long it took to set. It is not as thick as regular jam but neither is it runny.Hillbilly Hen, last night I made your peach-blueberry spiced jam..Totally Delicious!!!
