Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Well, I did pick up a heated hose today. Hopefully it will cut down on a bit of my back pain this winter. The 20' hoses are $50.00 and the 40' is $89.00. FF&H had a $10.00 off coupon so I used that.

John - I have no idea what the cost would be to run a water line out to the trough. Everyone I've asked simply answered 'expensive' . . .

I agree on the expense, that's why I haul. Congrats on getting a deal and Condolences for stolen equipment. Being home and having dogs really has been a Godsend, burglars and thieves are horrible.

Thank you Folly, she is a big gorgeous bird, how often does yours lay, shes about 2 yrs old. not sure how good of a layer she is yet.

Sorry about the stolen Kawasaki

I just looked up blue laced red wyandotte, and i think she is more buff laced.. that one looks alot like her.. she doesnt have any blue,

Quite often instead of the ideal red with blue lacing coloring you will get a greyish white coloring with red lacing referred to as a splash. They are both beautiful birds.

A few pictures of the front porch after working on it today. Not all stones are level yet as I work out the pattern.

love your porch, you should do your front yard with wood, chips and beach grases, some pier posts with rope, no cutting and I'm sure your neighbors would LOVE IT

I think this is how Garden City views Raz

were did you get that great pic of Raz should be his new avatar
So I'm reading your posts everyday and learning alot. I am pretty new still. I have 6 hens, 1 roo, 2 muscovies and 2 campbell's. I have a 4x8 coop my husband made for me and a dog house for the ducks, who are mostly in the pond and haven't really used their house much. My run is 100 sq. ft, but they free range most of the day, so my run is still mostly grass. What do I need to put in run(it is uncovered) for the winter. Would love any winter advice< especially for a 1st timer. I discovered yesterday that my coop leaks, so will have to look into that. :/
if you still have gras in there you might try putting fencing of some kid in so chickens can't scratch to the dirt but can still eat the grass,

Typically, a designation of R1-A

Love the sign were did you get it?

another soggy morning up here in the little finger! DH hasn't had any luck hunting yet, although part of that is his own doing since he could have shot a deer on the 2nd, but couldn't bring himself to take a doe so early in the season. (plus we need another freezer if we get any deer this year.) We did pick up one of those wildgame cameras from menards.....not the one we wanted, but I wasn't surprised they were sold out of the cheaper ones by Sunday afternoon. Put that on the south side of our property to see what's moving through there and when. I found DH's OTHER (3rd) trail camera as well, but batteries were not removed at the end of last year, and there is a LOT of corrosion in there now. It's an older, non-infrared, flash type trail camera, so it's not a HUGE loss if DH can't get it working, but irritating none the less. I was looking forward to possibly being able to pin down the travel lanes and figure out where the deer are going to bed down to the north, and possibly where a nice 9pt is hiding out during legal shooting hours.

RaZ, I'm loving your new porch! We're discussing doing something similar in our back yard next year. Will have to price it out since I know we can put on a 14x10 deck for around $1000, and if we do a block patio, we'll have some major back-filling to do because of how much above grade our slider is.
