Good idea, Raz. You may have been joking, but I have a lot of hostas that I'm putting off separating this fall. Now I know what to do with them next year.

Not joking at all. Sharing hostas is a great way to get more plants and because hostas are easy to grow, they often get new people interested in gardening.

I will be bringing some to chicken stock too! Hostas got thinned last spring, and may be going for good next spring. I'm trying for an edible landscape. So far so good!

Does anyone have a day or two or three old chick or two? My hatch was crap. Only one marans hatched, and I don't want the little thing to be a loner. I do not know what went wrong with the other two eggs that went into lock down with him, but when I opened them up to see, there was a lot of watery fluid in the sacks on both of them. Neither of those sack had been pipped through.... Already sad enough to learn that Strutter is NOT mounting the marans hens.. but he'll mount the heck out of the neighbors girls... Jerk. AND Ray, the silkie roo, isn't mounting either.

Anyway, Other option for me it to go to townline on monday and get some day olds, which would be ok... I guess.. LOL.

I called them this morning. They told me they'd have some monday morning, come in anytime between 10-4. So that's what I'll probably do. They have meaties right now... I guess I could get a few, but in 8 weeks or less, Loner would be... a Loner. SO, will get the isa's. They're good layers.

I have 5 eggs that are due to hatch on Friday. If more than 3 of them do hatch, I should probably part with some of them, since I don't actually have room to house 5 more chickens. So, I guess what I am saying is that I might have a chick or two available. Don't know if they'll be too young for you though.
