Mara...gorgeous pumpkins....which leads me to a question I keep meaning to ask.

I figure pumpkins are gonna be cheap tomorrow at local farmer. Heck maybe I can even just go grab some still in the patch. I have heard some of you say that pumpkin is a natural de-wormer (plus I am sure the chickens love it!)

How should I prepare it for them? Raw? Seeds (cooked, raw, both?). And, I think I will prepare some & freeze for winter treats, again, best way to prepare?

Thanks!

Ok that one was painful to thin, hard and brittle

Yea there awesome. Love Ray's work.
These are quickies and I'm trying to get them done at work. Don't tell the boss. I'm answering the cordless in the garage with pumpkin fingers.

They'll be chick treats after today.
On to #3 have until 5.

Chickens love eating pumpkin but it has no worming ability. The pumpkin seed however does. Seeds can be fed raw or dried in the over to feed later in the winter.

Ah!
Thank you. Now the trick will be hiding all the pumpkin seeds I will cook for the birds so DH doesn't find them & eat them all :D
