We have had dramatically reduced gunfire where we rifle hunt this year! Fewer doe tags were issued and we are in the 14 county area that elected to implement the "3 on one side" antler point restriction rule that is in its 10th or so year in leelanau county (which has been the poster child for big deer in this region). I have 2 trips to the field left this weekend before we have to go back home and I'm hoping to make on of them count. I haven't shot a buck in 10 years now, and usually rely on a doe tag to help fill the freezer and I was too late in trying to get one this year....they were sold out when I remembered they were available over the counter.
