Thanks!! good point!!if it wasn't stringy plastic, and was decently small she'll probably poop it out. Nothing you can do, really. But look for it if she passes it, knowing chickens another one will just re- eat it...........![]()
One of the best Christmas presents I've gotten is the pair of ice grips my sister gave me one year. Wouldn't be without them. They slip on over your boots and mine have studs in the bottom, you can walk on ice with no problems at all.Our driveway is a ice skating rink! So all the way to the coop I'm slipping and sliding. At least the paved part isn't icy though.
If you catch it quickly, soak her foot in epsom salts water ( very warm) dry it off then apply ichthammol (drawing salve) on it, wrap it and leave it for a few days. You might have to repeat it but it really works.- - - - - -
I think my BO may have some Bumblefoot going on. She has a small swelling that looks almost like a blister on the bottom of her foot. There are no marks whatsoever red or black. Do you know how long before something shows up? Any ideas. I don't want to do unnecessary procedures, but I don't want to wait to longer either. Thanks!
I deny any and all mischief.
I haven't had a real egg since PK brought me some back in November.I guess that I can't fault my hens laying this winter. They've given me 99 eggs since the 1st of the year. Hope used 2 dozen eggs today and we still have about 7 dozen sitting in the cupboard.

I just use a mix, and sub Kahlua for the water. I used to have a homemade Kahlua recipe, I will have to look for it.
