Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hi everyone, and welcome to the new folks. I've been sick with a cold, and then computer troubles. Ugh!! Back again finally, and wishing for spring like we all are. The chickens would love no snow, as I would. Mary
Hi Mary. Welcome back and as people are seeing Robins, and being an optimist that Feb is now half over, spring and the things it brings, is just a hop, skip, and jump away!

@preciouskitty great funnies today. Thanks for the much needed laugh.

@uchytil more ducks? You remember me, ok? If I can't get this electric situation under control, I'll have to rehome. :( I have a thread in the duck forum seeking thoughts on modifying a solar stock tank for ducks. As well as an inspirational house thread over there right now. One is a castle and it is amazing.

@Opa 2 words: Dogs & protection. Good neighbors help too. :)

Who is winter sowing this year?? PM me if you are, I need to get going this year.

...
Die, winter, die. Its going to be a real mess when the thaw finally comes.  ...

Well-- ducks will love it when melt starts, and then it will be the Messy Season of Mud! Moms-- get your Swiffers ready. Fwiw- I went thru my linen closet, found ratty towels for recycling, those will serve me well as homemade reusable Swiffer pads when the mud gets here.

Beautiful creature & pics Tap.

I've been told recently that Robins do overwinter in Michigan....
but even if they do, and knowing that hope is an illusion,
seeing this yesterday sure kinda brightened my day!

There must have been 50 of them flying all over the yard, a good few snatched some old crab apples off this tree.
Love the Robins,
some over winter but I have not seen a flock that large Awesome!!

love the funnies. Precious and Opa's

The eagle is beautiful,
Good to now about the wood shavings I am on my way to TSC now for feed and feeders well see if they have any

Nothing much happening here, now. All weekend it was frozen pipes... even with dripping water and heat tape the night time temps must've gotten too low. :(
Also, the snow piles at the end of business drives are making pulling into traffic very, very dangerous here right now. To make myself feel better i went and bought a green tinged mini rose, kordania. I wanted the patio hit kind, but haven't found them yet. My green rose from a couple years ago got killed, and i'm not so sure about the mini or the austin rose i had because the dang rabbits chewed them to ragged stubs in a night! I also bought some flower seed packs just in case it ever does get warm again :(

Birds are all well, thinking on an experimental hatch with a few eggs to see what the new roo throws; but i don't really need babies right now with a move coming late spring. We are moving to another trailer, but this time out in the country so i can wake up to my chickens and he can have his garden without the drive out to the family property. 4 acres! IF spring ever arrives! Driving out to deliver water has been a trial. This one will be cassanovia area, between ravanna and kent city.

thoughts, dreams for spring
my theme for my prospecive flower borders and my interior decorating colors is the dark deep shady colors of the pine woods. Orangey-browns of old pine needles, deep brown-greens, chartreuse green, cherry and walnut finishes. For my borders the primary color is to be green, with emphasis on leave patterns and variety, with as many natives as possible. A sprinking of "exotics" to complement the natives.
