Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Townline does duccles. I'm looking for someone who might be able to help me find fertile porcelain eggs whenever my silkie choses to go broody. I already have someone with cochins. I think we might put 2 or 3 of each under Gidget when/if she's ready.

Do you know if you pick up at Townline, do they make you purchase a minimum of 25?

Last year, I emailed them, asking this question (I was only looking for 2 chicks). What I was told was if I told them what I wanted, they could have my order ready for me in the office. It turned out I didn't need to go for what I was looking for, but I was happy with their offer.

Does anyone have the chicken breed comparison chart link handy? I can't find it. It had a pros/cons to each chicken breed, what color eggs they laid etc. I am searching on this forum, but not coming up with the right combo of words to find it.
There is a link here on BYC. You might have to do some clicking to find what you are looking for.

It looks like we'll be seeing grass in the next week! :yiipchick

The Henderson chicken breed chart is findable through Google, and My Pet Cicken had a good chart, as I recall. Sand Hill has good information also. Mary
Awesome - thanks. I couldn't remember the name that chart. Exactly what I was looking for.

I will have to call them. I'd like a few, but not 25.

We're on a roll 2 beautiful days in a row, with no wind. Finally picked up 4 astralop chicks from coyzstze yesterday so I've got babies. Got to meet Mrs Coyzstze, very nice lady. I am loving this milder weather and am impatiently waiting for a thaw long enough that I can get a few of my tubs unfrozen from the ground so all my ducks get their baths again. I have so much to do and so little ambition. I need a cure for that. I've got "house chickens" that need to go back outside too. I don't want to shock them into getting sick Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying our weather

I have a hatching question.... My first chick just hatched about half hour ago. Will I be fine to leave it in the bator with the eggs overnight??.. or should I wait for it to dry/fluf up and put it in the brooder?

Wait. The chick will be fine for a day or 2.
Don't open the bator.
