Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

don't know why she would have you get a med like that, maybe she meant to point out the electrolite, vitamin pack they look alike,

a lg plastic tote with a top works well, cut the inside of the top out and use the outer part of the top to hold down some fabric screen
don't have one to show, but I think some one on here used it last yr.

any one know how much it costs to replace a seat belt in the car, my rather lg. puppy is having a chewing issue and has chewed through the back seat belt
barnie.gif
3 different chew bones and raw hide sitting next to him and he has to go for the seat belt

I'd say a dog crate, will be way cheaper than that seatbelt.... but try a salvage yard.

wow i hope tsc is paying alot of money for the add space, cuz i open this page and i thought am i on the TSC backyard chicken page, maybe its like the ball parks you know, commerica park, 5/3 ball park, we have TSC backyard chickens....

[rule] Still has this month to go and already huge! My guess is 2, Can't wait!!
A month to go and she is THAT big? Wanna take bets she has more than two in there?! I have another doe due April 10th, close to yours, and even she doesn't look that huge! I could already feel kid movement with her, which is always cool. My girl due the 12th is feeling uber pregnant. It is going to be a cold time to birth them babies! But there will be a midwife home at all times for it. Though my mother and I have been there for goat kid bithings in the past, my father has not. He will call either my mother or myself if he is the one home at 'go time', and the vet too if necessary. And it could very well be him, since he is home more. He retired after 30 years of military service + 10 years of being a high school teacher. Mom and I are worker bees, but at least we won't be more than 20 minutes away at any time. The hair dryer will be one of our tools to get those kids dry promptly! A friend of mine whose doe gave birth two weeks ago, despite heat lamps and towels, the kids still got chilled because it was so cold outside. They had to be brought into the house to thaw, whilst mama freaked out.
X2 on more than twins! I took those picture of Myrtle on Sunday. Poor girl, its her first kidding and mine too! I have no idea when she is due as I brought her as a bred goat in Jan 9. I am guessing twins or triplets baking in her!

- 3 here this morning, an improvement over yesterdays -15. Life goes on.

Here is a copy of what I just posted to the Icelandic Chicken thread:

We had -3 this morn, a big improvement over yesterdays -15. It was snowing when I got up at 6 and still is. Winter is well and hearty here.

My sad news is that I am going to have to rehome my Icelandics. This summer I will be away from them for a couple of months, it cant be gotten around and they need better care then they'd get. Its a health issue, and I dont see it significantly changing, so without going into it thats what is.

All in all there is about 20, with about 5 extra roosters that will probably go to freezer camp soon.

The oldest are 3 coming 4 year olds. And right now they are divided into 3 breeding groups. There are two 3 and 4 yr old roosters, both fertile but housed separately now. Hens are mostly 2012 and 2013 hatched.

There is NO price for these !

For those interested I also have a GQF Incubator w/turner, a hatcher, and miscl chicken equipment, I will offer these as groups with their equipment including feeders and waterers. There are also 5 water heaters.

I have been trying to think of any other way around this but this is the best solution for all. I think a LOT of my Icelandics and want the best for them.

PM me for any other details, but what I am offering to serious people is a breeding group of Icelandic Chickens , a rooster and hens. 3 different groups, two lines of different importations.

There is equipment also available including 5 raised pens, feeders and waterers, and five waterer heaters.

PM me for more information. I am pricing the pens only. The equipment goes with the groups.

Jake, sorry about your birds. I would take some, but you are so far away!

I have some of his lavender amaricaunas, standard but bantam size I have not separated them yet but plan to do it soon, have been worried about the -0 temps, if you don't have a broody to soon, I may be able to help, Mine are from M. Blehm very sweet birds very pretty Robin egg blue, eggs
Oooh. If that would work out, I'd be pretty darn happy. Beautiful birds, pretty eggs, AND I'd get to meet you! I'll keep in touch when the time gets closer, thank you!

Quote: I like the look of Polish, but they're not on my list for this round. Thanks for the suggestion!

Mama goats always look so huge to me 0 even when only carrying one. Three is amazing! Good luck to all of the goat guardians who are expecting soon.

Woke this morning to a call from Hope asking that I come to the gas station and help her open her locked car door. What a great way to start out ones day. Still the day has started and we are able to face it so life is good.

I want to set sot I me eggs in the incubator as both my Vorwerk and Welsummer flocks are getting old and need replacing but it is much to cold to deal with brooding chicks so I will wait for warmer weather. Plus since the bantams aren't currently laying setting any of their eggs would be quite difficult. Hopefully my hatching will go much easier than this guy.
