Look, I thought this was a safe place for me to come vent my disappointment. Obviously I was wrong. Its not worth getting a refund at $2/chick for me. And it definitely did not happen in my care. My niece was holding the box on the way home and found that one and I couldn't inspect him til we got home 2.5 hours later. I seriously doubt he missed it. My guess is that's why it was in his cull box. As he was getting the chicks out he was pointing out the most minuscule details to me as to why they were rejects, such as a black feather here or there. He also made a big point to tell me not to expect them all to live. With the attention to detail he paid them I highly doubt he just happened to miss an eyeless chick. So yeah, I'm disappointed and went somewhere that I thought people might understand.
The roo is great at hawk alerts and never has picked on anyone else. Also good with grandkids, I would probably get rid of her before him, unless he were to do it again to another gal, he really protects them well.
I just dont even know how to begin the conversation. "Hey, remember those chicks I picked up Saturday? One of them was eyeless." UGH. I am not a people person. This is why I have animals!@tori
It's understandable that you are upset over this incident. But It's not cool to become so defensive. Everyone is trying to help you. It is not confrontation to let the breeder know. Think about it; if you were a breeder and accidently missed something like this, would you not be horrified and want to make right? I know I would.
We're all human and prone to mistakes. So please consider forgiving the man his mistake and letting him know what happened. I know I would appriciate someone letting me know if I were him, and I am sure you would too if you were in his shoes.
