Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

So are you expanding your chocolate line to the cochins??? Will you have any sale birds this year??? Do you know if it is sure chocolate, or dun??? I am aware of cost for this color bird. As soon as i get moved and coop in place...so looking pretty hard. How is their temperament? Are they quick to quarrel or laid back?

A banty baby female would be my lonely boy's mate if he chose her. A male would be flock leader of the best of my trio's babies (if i ever can get any hatched)

I plan on seperating this trio this summer to try and get more females from them. Currently both hens are molting and broody. Im gonna say they are chocolate and not dun as they are pure chocolate english orphingtons and was quite expensive. Plus they looked really dark almost black when younger. The hens are friendly however the roo just picked up the nasty habbit of charging me. But I just football punt him. Lol
I got them to cross onto my cochins as im trying to get chocolate cochins.

Keep an eye out when I plan on hatching as im sure ill post and if still interested let me know! :)

I am finally declaring it spring with the final and very meaningful washing of the snowsuits. Hopefully not needed again until December!

Yea Farmerboy!

Here are our latest additions. I'm not a big pig fan (actually after saying that I remember the 80's band by that name!) this is my DH and son's project, not mine!

Finally with yesterday's rain I could get to the summer coop and clean so my youngsters are spending their first night out.

Benny and June were a birthday gift to my son from Mom2em at the 2012 Chickenstock. I had seen poor Benny was becoming a naked neck and wondered what was up. Tonight I found June lovingly grooming him and pulling feathers.

Silly I love your celebrity picture, your Uggo is a perfect for Gonzo. I wanted to enter a Polish boy I used to have. I think he looks like Blackie Lawless, but I can't find any pictures that show it very well.

This weekend/holiday was absolutely crazy! A sad thing is, this year, as I had 20+ dozen eggs in the house, for the first time we did not color eggs.

We were just too busy with pigs and birthdays and running between families. My son says we should do them next weekend and have "after Easter" eggs.

For sure! You will know. Dun breeds like blue; but with a chocolate roo all females should be chocolate and males split to chocolate (but black color)

I would definitely be interested. I had a beautiful Australorp Roo and a stray dog got him. I was so upset...I'd planned on hatching out eggs this spring.
I think you were talking with me :) I'll keep you posted! Too bad about your roo. I am in Zeeland, btw.
