Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Quite the storm here right now. Horizontal winds took out a bunch of branches from the tree out front. Then the downpour hit before I could get all of the windows closed. A little water never hurt, eh?

It has eased up a bit but there are steady rolls of thunder. The wind has died down to that eerie calm but the birds are returning to the feeders so I guess the worst has passed.

Geez, be safe.

I hate when I forget about a window or two. Which reminds me, I need to go open them up again.

Does anyone in the Shelby/Hart area know of a good animal sitter? We'll be going away, presumably for 5 days, for the 4th. That's too long to leave them all alone and I have had suggestions to hire a sitter. It's an easy job: 5 chickens and 2 ducks.

Wonky flock i am not from that area but be sure to do a trial week previous. A little more but then you will be there to check up afterwards and ask questions while this person is getting to know your flock and vice versa. I am on almost a month with a friend and son sitting my birds for me during the part of the week i do 12 hour shifts, and they are still learning. Most important to know is quiz them on signs of sickness and treatment; if they don't know what to look for in a sick bird it is NOT a good idea to hire them!!!

I wonder if farmerboy has icelandics? Haven't seen him much since the engagement!

Silly i am sorry for your loss. Time or not i am certain you and hubby are grieving.

Does anyone going to CS want a goat?
If the two I have left aren't sold to a couple today, I may bring them along to CS. I have a Doeling (on right) and Buckling. $150.00 for the doeling, if unregistered. $100.00 for the buckling.

I hate this part about having dogs..... this will be the second dog this year that we had to say good bye too. I feel guilty that we have to "make arrangements" but DH wants to be home (he travels a lot). The last dog went down hill faster than expected and was sent home while he was traveling.

Sorry Silly.
