Is it normal for chickens to just stand out in the rain?

I have a couple that LOVE the rain, if it's not down pouring anyways... it brings out the worms. :) I think they're smarter than the ones that run into the coop at the slightest sprinkle... by the time the rest of the chickens come back out of the coop, all the fresh new treats have been claimed. LOL.

If it's down pouring where you're at, or if you have a lonely girl just standing there & not "acting chicken" you should probably go check things out. If they seem to be behaving normally (aside from it raining on them)... then probably just let them be & wish them luck of the hunt. :)

Mine are free range in my yard... Is free range the correct term? Hmm.... Our yard is fenced in. I suppose I should finish their run by winter, but I kinda like them wandering about. At night they go back to the shed.

Anyway, all of them were out walking around in the rain. lol They looked fine, but I wasn't sure if I should encourage them to go for cover or not. :) Thanks! Now if they would just lay eggs. :-/

How old are they and how long have you had them?
If they're older and have been there awhile they should well know where to gain cover if they need it since they already go in the coop at night.

If they are well feathered, those feathers are fairly water resistant...they might look a bit damp, but are probably nice and dry and warm underneath and next to their skin.

Mine stay out in a light rain looking for bugs and worms....and come out right after a hard rain to do the same.

I would love to give the courts my opinion on how they are taking this whole cluster F to extremes and harassing a citizen over something so stupid...Making it a point to be so devious, secretive and underhanded just makes them look bad and decreases any possible respect from citizens. If what they are doing is honest, then there is NO reason not to make all your harassment's, er hearings public, and get all the charges done and out of the way so both of you can get on with your lives. dragging this s out is irresponsible on their part. There are so many others are getting off scott free for far worse things... but this is a family site. I guess they're doing this because this is easier to do than to go after people leaving their home in shambles.. like your neighbors that started all this mess......or maintaining their own building with crumbling steps......no, it's just a bunch of lazy A priks you have in office over there in Manure city..... LOL big brother watching this site... great...go F yourselves.

The cake is awesome, congrats on the win!

30 stings......OUCH!!!..... I know that has to hurt!!! However, when you told me you had to strip in the drive way....... I had to chuckle a bit, sorry! Hope you get relief soon!

and speaking of bees... we pulled about 3 GALLONS of honey from one super yesterday........ it was a lot of work getting the honey out, but it was mighty sweet work! We have another ready to go next week. I hardly got any sleep last night, I think I may have had a bit too much honey!

Did I mention I'm getting a puppy here in few weeks? A friend in NY breeds Olde English Bulldogges...

Possibly this little girl... I have pick, but waiting to find out what the temperaments will be like.

do they have anymore if so how much money?

I am not ready for court tomorrow...
I have spent the last 3 days doing manual labour to construct a patio for a friend.

Saturday and Sunday it was moving 4 yards of slag in the hot sun and getting it leveled and tamped. The gas tamper has relocated all of my internal organs to new locations.
Today was another yard of slag moved in the pouring rain and another dance with the tamper. At least we got to a point that the starter course can be laid. In fact, I got about 36 feet of starter placed. Only 380 square feet of brick to lay.

And she thought that this was a simple weekend project.
