Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

very pretty dove,

sorry about the loss of chickens, unbelievable what critters can get through. .....I have rabbits that get through my 2x4 welded wire all the time. I am trying to get hardware cloth all the way around the bottom so actual predators don't get in.....hoping it is warm enough next week to fix brakes in the netting over the run. the snow seems to break a few spots every winter

No more weasel problem.

I have not yet been to Africa, but am planning on it in the near future. I have been to Indonesia in the Banda Aceh area, almost as far north as you can go. We were helping rebuild after Hurricane Katrina went through and destroyed most of the homes along the western coast for miles. Some rebuilding pictures. These were inland about 10 miles and were built for the families that lost everything they had or owned.
That's me in the white headband. We think that the weather here is warm in the summer, well there the sun is from almost directly overhead so it's almost twice as hard on a person. We ate a lot of local popsicles in an effort to stay cool. It helped some, but it was almost unbearable at times.

Laying locally made bricks. Some others from our team.

Me on the ladder going up to make sure the metal is being installed properly.

Finished roof...

Those are some great pictures....I wish we could make bricks from our soil the way they can I mean I could build a house for practically nothing...if you don't have anyone you are connected with in Africa I know a couple different ministries that operate in Uganda, CAR, and Kenya..I am so privileged to be able to travel and to do some of the work we do, Our work often focuses on orphans and underserved peoples...I call it vacationing with a purpose, of course I usually do so much work on my trips that I need a vacation when I return. I will tell you what the weather certainly is warmer there...if I could just combine where I am called to serve with the weather somewhere else.....I am just like really God I can go somewhere warm....anywhere warm....well maybe someday....

I will certainly keep you in mind for future reference!
