Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

What will be hatching?
Just some mixed chickens....moved them into the gqf hatcher....so well see how they work out....i think its nicer in the coolerbator cause you can actually see them hatch where in the hatcher you cant see anything....bummer...and it takes way longer for the humidity to stabilize at 60 percent in the hatcher then the coolerbator as well...

Good Sunday morning! Taprock, glad you caught your troublemaker. I too am looking forward to our "balmy" day, ready for all this snow to melt. My bf thinks that our chicks are adorable. It's so cute to see a 43 year old man, all stubble, testosterone, and punk rock watching baby chicks.

On that note, what does dh mean? I swear I've seen it posted in this thread so many times. It seems to be used as "significant other"-is that right?

What have u hatched peep?

Aaaagh. Chicks. They have a bunch of ee in a bin at my tsc. ..........walk away, walk away!.....
I need it to quit freezing so i can test eggs. My newer hen is my roos favorite, the old gal i think shuns him. I have seen *possible* fertility in the young hen's eggs. I neeeed my own chicks!!!!

Just some mutts so far. I will be hatching some EEs, speckled sussexes, some bantams and hope fully Marans and OEs in April :D

The goal is to avoid TSC as much as possible.

Did you try mulching (deep) over the ground around and on top of where the pipe comes in?  The peacock has nothing to do with the hen not laying eggs.  It could be she's just a late maturing individual, or more likely a nutrient, genetic, or housing problem.

If you are worried about the chickens eating the hay, its good for them as long as they have access to grit.

If you have a good shop vac, suck up all the standing water and see if your vac will suck some of the water out of your beams as well.  Cover the pump with a sheet of plastic until there is no more dripping water.  Once you've sucked up all the water run a dehumidifier until its dry down there. You can use compressed air to blow moisture out of the pump motor.

You already have.  Now you just need to get some chicks, or ducklings.  Welcome

 Love the pics.

The pictures were appreciated.  Also the ones from Uganda.  More please.
I have some babies that I just got from the feed store and also some show silkies
