I have 2 roosters with 25 hens and sometimes they still knock down drag out fight, but usually they just keep their girls on their own turf in a huge yard.

Hmmm. If I am lucky I might have 23 hens, so I would be close to your 25.

The Mrs is insisting I buy an already built coop because of the fact that we're low on time. I'm going to go look at one tomorrow morning that is 4x8. I still want to build one, but we do kinda need a space for chickens to stay. 

They're asking $350 for it and it looks to be fairly well built. 

$350 seems like an awful lot. I have not been very impressed with any farm store pre built coops that I've seen. @Opa? I'd hate to see you waste that much on a coop that won't last.

Depends on your chicken goals.....and the amount/types of space you have and the temperament of the birds in question.

We settled at $325. This one was a home built unit, not farm store pre build. It's pretty solid, relatively clean, hasn't had birds in a couple years now. I will pick it up tomorrow, bring it home and clean it very thoroughly. It needs a coat of paint and it'll look pretty much new.

I don't honestly know if I could build it cheaper, and it's about 85% what we're looking for. with some slight tweaking (moving the chicken door, a little trim work) I think it'll do what we need. Time is also fleeting right now, and my next 2 weekends are booked full, so I don't have really any time to build .

I keep one Buff Brahma with over two dozen. I've never had good luck with two roosters in the hen house. They don't share...and always fight (mine).
