Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

My "Ameracanas" (Easter eggers) hate me. They run away all the time and are super skittish. One of them seems a bit better, and I can usually get them to take a bit of feed from my hand. But if I move even the slightest bit, they bolt!

My friendliest is my RIR roo Rudy, he runs up to me everytime I'm outside. He has a buddy SAMCRO (all 3 of my black australorps are called SAMCRO because we can't really tell them apart) who usually follows along.

One of my RIR (I call them all Red for the same reason you have 3 SAMCRO's) is my cuddly sweetie. Always flying up into my lap :) and the red EE (named cheetah) does the same but not as often.

I did not handle the EE's as much as I did Rudy as a chick. I actually handled Rudy the most mainly because he was kind of the runty runt of the group and I wasn't sure if he was going to pull through and do so well. I wonder if he imprinted on me more than the rest of them.

Easter Eggers are often (incorrectly) called Araucanas or Ameraucanas by hatcheries. Those are EE's, and both pullets.

I don't think $350 would be unreasonable for a sturdy 4x8 coop.
Here's a couple photos of it. It was marked as sold so I feel safe sharing it now. I plan to paint it standard barn red, and do some white trim.

We settled at $325. I pick it up tomorrow. These pictures are from the listing.

That'll be cute, it's good. You may want to change the ramp tho. Chickens aren't too graceful especially in wet or snow. make the ramp shorter and use some bricks or something for steps.

Very cute. Some white trim boards and barn red will make it look brand new. The metal roof, with that pitch, will allow snow to slide right off. Not sure about the bottom standard chicken wire. Is that an underneath run? You may want to replace it with hardware cloth which is stronger. Coons can rip right through chicken
