Isn't it amazing how quickly the grass has come back? Once it has dried out some I'd better get it mowed. With moisture back in the soil it is going to be growing at record rates.

Nova can you put out one of those motion detector sprinklers? My aunt uses one in her garden, although hers is to keep out the deer.

I think I am going to have to build myself a rooster pad. Right now the bantam boys are really hassling my bantam girls. I found a bald spot on the top of my silkies head yesterday. She is not able to defend herself like the big girls. My problem is at this point I haven't decided who is going to stay and who needs to go.

Does anyone in the northern part of the state have new chicks? I have a broody who has been broody since the end of June. Twice she has spent a week in the box, appeared to be done and then went back to the nest box. As much as I don't want chicks right now I'm just tired of her.

I am pretty sure it is human theft.

I put my broody hens, I had 6 at one time, into a brooder box with no nesting material, just newspaper. One I did have go right into the nest box after two days. Put her right back in the brooder box for another two days. Done. Had to do that with one other. It's so nice not to see all those broody hens sitting in their nests, panting and on the verge of heat stroke!!
Good Morning Michigan! Got lots to do today, filling up feeders and giving everyone fresh water. Tomorrow we're leaving for Caseville! Cheeseburger Fest, here we come. Sure hope it doesn't rain all week!

I am looking for an ducklings or an adult duck hen or two Indian runner(preferably blue), Magpie, or Cayuga. I wold also like to know if anyone had any olive eggers,sex links, or marans available Hope to hear from someone!
