Finally got it all done. I added another layer to the floor since I had some extra paint, so unfortunately I will have to wait another night to move the chicks in

Sweet!!
Extra coat on floor will be well worth the wait to let it cure fully.
Not sure I'd have had the patience painted all those battens...but I'm not a painter anyway.

Sounds like fun, unfortunately Lansing is a little too far for a day trip for us here in NoMi. Maybe the more nothern folks could arrange a get together up here too ??

My chicks arrive tomorrow! I am so excited. The brooder is ready in the garage, and the coop is halfway built. Next step is building the trusses and setting them in. Let the adventure begin!!!

ChickenStock sounds like fun, and relatively close to me too.(I'm in Armada). But I have to check the nephew's baseball schedule. He plays travel ball, and might have a tournament. Since I'm the official scorekeeper I have to be there.

Any last minute tips for a newbie chicken owner?
