Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Baby Rangers are getting pretty big. If it hadn't been so **** cold and windy today I probably would have put them out in the playpen today as I believe they're big enough that they would stay inside of the pen.

hope you feel better than you look
Imagine a picture of the UP sky. The Milky Way is visible in a clear sky and the Northern Lights are starting to show.

I am all shades of black, purple, blue and green.
Oh, and the IV site seems to be infected.
I was healthy before I started receiving medical care.

I don't know what they did to me during the heart catheterization. I am purple from knee to belly button. I can hardly wait for the big surgery. At least the hematoma is disapating.

Hello,

Pleased to meet you. I am new here from NC. Now live in N. Michigan. So there are no misunderstandings - I don't run a hatchery. I did hatch chicks this winter though and they are all still alive. We did this in the coop in Wexford County with hens only. All the chicks but one are still alive. One chick on its second day fell asleep under a feed tray and did not wake up - frozen solid.

The 21 day science did not apply. They hatched at varying times. Some are bantam Cochin mixed with Barnevelder and some are OEs. Just a bunch of hybrid birds. We were wondering if it would work. Were x'd 5 to 6 eggs under each of the bantam hens and they went to work. They are all in the other shed now under some lights because its going down to 28 tonight and its May 14. I can't believe this weather - yuck. Good luck!

Later!
Welcome Hoke, hope you can make chicken stock in Lancing june 11, lots of fun with crazy chicken people.

Winter just does not want to let go this year. will need to go get plants today as those that got theirs in early probably lost some and will be after seconds. good for the nurserys, not so good for slowpokes like me.

sorry for the losses of chicks, happy for those with success. ...never would of thought of the oven, good job

Raz, take it easy they most likely broke a blood vessel or something not encouaging, , good luck on your surgery, our prayers are with you

Are we going to have a big turnout at CS? I've been talking to a few non-poster's, lurker's, and just good friend's of mine that still don't know:(

Does anyone have a Flemish Giant Doe, 6 months to a year old they want to trade for a 6 month old FG buck albino? Has to be pure FG. Or, does anyone know someone that is into FG's they could present that question to? He's a friendly, very clean, boy that needs a new home ASAP!

Hiya! Not sure if we'll make it to CS this year. So far my schedule for June 11 is both booked and open. LOL. We are planning our oldest son's graduation open house (in July). So even though we don't have anything on the calendar yet, we have lots of work to do around the house/property. DH is finishing out the poll barn with insulation, drywall, putting in a bathroom & all that jazz. Plus yard work to make us look less like farming hillbillies ;) lol. We'll see how much we can get done & hopefully we'll be able to stop out.

I've checked a few signatures but didn't immediately see the links for food & swap threads. Do we have separate threads for those? If so can someone give me the links? I might be able to sweet talk DH into CS16 if I can entice him with swap items. ;)

In the fray of feeding time today my rooster felt it was an appropriate time to attack me and found himself getting kicked to get him off me. He caught his leg in the fence and is now limping :(. I'm super upset about the whole thing, and I am now concerned. I can't see/feel anything that appears broken, but of course I am not a vet and don't have x-ray as an option.

Any advice?

I don't make a habit of kicking my rooster, he just completely caught me off guard and ended up on the end of my boot :(

I would not worry too much about it if he is walking around. Here's hoping he learned a lesson. At my house he'd be on tomorrow night's menu.

Candy442 is running the thread. It's just one thread CS16 you post all your data under and she updates the Event thread. Should I bring the Nigerian Buckling, or the Albino Flemish Giant for you to take home? Or both?

i'm back home now, I got a couple videos of my rooster "walking". It's more of a hop/limp. I really think his leg may be broken. I'm not sure what to do, I'm so upset :(. I really think I should bring him in and confine him.

Once the videos are finished transferring I'll share them.
