Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hey guys. I hate to be that one person that only comes to a thread to advertise. But this was the only place that I could think of. Would anyone be interested in three outdoor cats? All three are spayed and neutered. They are great pets and really great mousers.

I am trying to find them a home because we moved to the city a couple years ago, and they could no longer be free roaming. They live in our garage and have a really great enclosure that we built so they can get out for fresh air and exercise. But they just aren't happy with confinement. I'm looking at being in the city for another 1-2 years, and I don't want to put them through that much more time in confinement if I don't have to.

They are 8 years old. One male and two females. The male ADORES attention. He loves kids, and adults alike. Same with one of the females. The other is a little on the shy side. I have had these cats since they were born on my farm. They all do great with chickens, cows, goats, etc. They really are great pets, and I would hate to re-home them. But I have to start thinking about what is best for them.

All I ask is that they go to a great home. So if any of you are interested, or know anyone who might be, feel free to PM me for more information.

Thanks everyone!

Raz, my straw bale gardens have sprouted mushrooms, I know you have experience with straw bale gardening, do you think I should just leave them or pull them out?

welcome KK,

already have cats,. they often have a hard time readjusting at that age,. we moved from the city to the country and our cat hid under the bed for a month, only coming out when she needed to

Where exactly are you in Michigan?? We could always use another barn cat or 3 here, but I don't think I'm driving across the state for them.

You shouldn't have mushrooms (unless you planted them).
Have the bales been sitting in the same spot for 2-3 years or more?

I'm behind on getting things done. It didn't help that the hospital messed me so bad doe the heart cath. I could barely walk for over a week and the infection is finally showing signs of clearing up.
I tell you I was healthy before ever seeing these doctors.

glad your infection is clearing up hospitals are scary places. half the people I know that go in seem to come home with an infection of some kind,.
a good friend of ours went in for a chemically induced stress test, today I hope his wife remembers to call me and let me know how he comes out.

the straw bales were just bought a month or so ago, been watering them and a little fertilizer some wood ash, maybe that is were they came from? only see them one bale, haven't got up there yet today, guess I will pull them out and hold off on watering for another day.

Is there a recommended butcher age for ducks? I was thinking of taking the 2 extra drakes with my Cornish in a month. That would make the ducks.....ummmm...4 months old? Figured I might be able to avoid the hormonal issues if I got them done about them and have a good carcass size....

I am in West Michigan.

West Michigan FTW!!! Where you located exactly? Good to see another W.M resident!

Me too, though, can't help you mschickenmomma, I don't think my cats will allow any more. They don't like the stray that keeps coming around as it is. I'm from SW Michigan, myself. I'll see if anyone around work would like any outdoor cats.
