Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

A wire is down right by here. They evacuated my neighbors. I have all my carriers ready in case we need to go. At least I don't have too many birds right now!

Yup I have. I treated the bantam ones as I would a normal one. If they're a breed that hatched early(seramas) you may want to set those a few days after the large fowl.

Thank you for the advise Peep :)

I'm hoping we have power when I get home from work otherwise I will have to deal with a grumpy husband. And we're trying to finish installing the LP line for my new range.Woooooohooooo ! no more electric stove for me :)

199 eggs in the incubator and the power has been out 3 hours. Ayam Cemani, turkeys, Exchequer Leghorns, etc
Ohhh no!!!! we are still ok here. Don't know if it's a good idea but you are always welcome to bring them here

Electronic thermostat on the GQF cabinet fried. We hooked up the portable generator and I patched in a homemade controller.

Hope your eggs do okay! I've got a large spruce tree fallen on my coop; the roof is damaged, but the structure is sound. I'll call for help tomorrow. The power didn't go out here, but four of my bantams didn't come in tonight. Predator likely, darn it!!! We'll see if any come back in the morning, or if I just lost my Belgian d'Uccle rooster too. Glad I left my girls in today. I came home and I could see that the fencing around their pen was already shaking pretty good. a little later on I came out of the house to see a big plastic barrel go bouncing across the field, ending up in the fence row. Probably would have kept going if the trees didn't stop it. Collected some of my dog house halves from around the pen yards to keep them from blowing away as well. Going to have to go over tomorrow and fix the yard up so that the girls can go back out. They will give me dirty looks if they stay in tomorrow.

Getting things settled in here in the apartment. Almost ready to have guest over.
