Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hello, I am looking for a goose or goslings. I don't care about breed or age but I would like them to be fairly cheap. Please private message me if you have any thing in western Michigan. Thankyou

Is Chickenstock open to all, or just those that have dishes and birds to swap? I mean is it open to the public and is there an entrance Fee?

Anyone is welcome at Chickenstock, there is no entrance fee, although a donation to help cover the cost of renting the pavilion is greatly appreciated. If you plan to eat, plan to bring either a dish to pass or platic plates, silverware, etc (see the members page listed below in my Sig line). If you want to participate in the gift exchange, bring a gift - does not have to be either large or fancy. The food is always great and plentiful, and the gifts are fun.

Past Chickenstocks have tried to keep out the Riff-Raff. But I got in any way.

Chickenstock (CS17) is like a family reunion except the people there are people you like. Food is abundant and freely shared. However it is a nice gesture to bring your specialty to share. There is electricity in the pavilion so you can bring a crock-pot or hot-plate if need be. In addition to the gift-trade thing, several people also bring plants to trade. Usually we have a lot of birds available plus rabbits or other small animals. A couple of times goats or sheep were traded but they were arranged prior to the picnic. Those trades were arranged beforehand via private messages between the parties involved. But the rest of us got to ooh and aah over them.

CS is kid-friendly and there are playground toys to play on.

And there may be a talent show or dance contest.

My girls are all mostly laying again. I have an egg eater.

AND, when I called my mother (who has been my "distribution" person for selling eggs for the rest of my extrended family) she was all "Well do you KNOW how cheap eggs are at the grocery store now?" *sigh* Great. So now I have a bunch of layers, and it seems that my market for eggs sales has nearly disappeared.
