Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

I would be very interested in Opa's posts if I didn't have a few piles like this in my back yard

I guess we are just post hoarders

I want to practice my building skills and build little sleeping cabins on our property, aka deer blinds. Those would be perfect. A little dressing, a little chinking, a bit of spiking and good to go.

Emergency rooster placement needed!!! Today my two white Chantecler boys decided to have a serious fight, and one of them has to leave ASAP. Both are polite with humans and are very nice free range flock roosters. I'll weigh them tonight, and could also send a couple of hens to make a trio. I live between Lansing and Flint, drive to Novi for work, and could meet someone within reasonable driving distance. Let me Know right away if you are interested. Mary

Do any of you use the feeders where the chickens have to stick their heads inside to eat? If so how many birds per feeding hole do you suggest?

This is the one I use for 14 chickens. It holds two 50 lb bags of feed. Sometimes they get sassy and pull a bunch of feed out of it but most of the time it works great. I love the fact that I only have to fill it once a month.

I picked up the cow panels that Sam had offered. Going to use them for the garden and flower beds to keep the chickens out.

So as usual, a visit with Opa and Grannie is time well spent. I don't think that I have ever met any nicer people. Although you BYC folk here come in a close second.

So for the newer people to this thread, I hope that you all make it out to ChickenStock in June. You can see for yourself just how many wonderful people we have here.
