Today one of my Belgian d'Uccle cockerels started crowing! He's almost ten weeks old, and I love it! The little guys are so cute! My EE bantam cockerel, the same age, kind of grunted yesterday, so he'll be crowing soon too. Adorable!
Meanwhile, a young raccoon has appeared next to my front window. Time to set that live trap. Ugh!
Ten bantam eggs under a broody, due to hatch early in August. More choices, and more to place this fall. Mary

Raz, what an awful thought! Mr. Raccoon might do some good, though; he'll go into a groundhog hole and be buried there. Mary

Yeah. The first of my "babies" has laid an egg at only 16 1/2 weeks!

I got 6 raccoons last week... and the dog got a skunk. Still more out there, I am sure.

We always have a live trap set by our coop. We have gotten 2 raccoos this last week after quite a long dry spell.
