So far, no issues with weather tonight. Freezing rain freaks me out; I really don't want a power outage!

Been watching the weather and it looks like we are in for more tomorrow

Our gas powered generator might run, or not. DH hasn't been keeping up with maintenance on it. And we have new chicks under a heat lamp, limited firewood, and all the usual gripes about possible power outages. I'm just being grumpy!

I know what you mean. I've got two week old under the lamp and the generator was pulled up to the garage so fingers crossed I don't have to use the old beast

Power still on here, Whew, no back up here.
Freezing rain falling now, but temps should rise soon and melt the 1/16" ice formed.

So far all is well here too. Still below freezing, and raining a bit, but no wind.

Freezing rain, a bit of snow and lots of wind. Ice age. Haven't lost power. I have chicks, but have a generator. Even if I didn't, think they would be ok. Feathering out nicely, and my old silky hen has adopted them, so think she would keep them warm.
Not looking forward going out into this weather to check on the chickens and rabbits. Need to fill the bird feeders, too.
Another day to do nothing. Stay safe!

Just got in from morning chores. It is not actually snowing, those are tiny little ice pellets, only 22 at the house, must be the air temp higher up is much warmer, and the rain is freezing just above the ground. Which I much prefer to an ice storm. I have one poor little junco that came back a little too early, and he is probably so happy to have the feeders full.
