Regarding CS18, how about if we bring already grilled hot dogs kept hot for the potluck? It would save a lot of hassle than firing up that grill, bringing charcoal and the fluid. Unless people think that takes the fun out of it?
Let me know please!

Good idea. I forgot I brought the charcoal and fluid last year. But, if someone else brings something to grill we may need some "grilling" stuff available. I asked a gal that usually comes and brings stuff to grill. She should be on here at some point. I'll email her and see if she is bringing the "usual stuff she brings". LOL, I just don't want to speak for her. So yah, pre-cooked hot dogs sound great!

The cooler weather was a welcomed relief after last weekends sweltering heat. Would of liked it better if I were able to stay home and get some yard work done.
My "baby" chicks are doing great out in the big coop and out in the yard. Had to get them out since we were going camping and wanted to make things easier for the critter sitter. Even saw one of the littles with a mouse running all over playing keep away. Didn't stick around to see what happened to it. :sick
I put my foot down between a mouse and the coop so it wouldn't go in the coop and that little bugger played dead! Picked it up by the tail and threw it over the fence so chickens wouldn't get it and it laid there for a long time. When I went to check on it put up it's little fist like he was going to box me. :lau Hope it wasn't the same one the chick got.... Maybe I need to let the cats out to take care of the mouse problem.

Yesterday I took down the partition wall that was sheltering the 6wos, after adding 'hiding' places to both runs. I have 3 subflocks at this time, 14 adults, 4 at 11wos, and 14 at 6wos...... it was crazy. Never again will I have 3 groups like this, the middle group is 3 males 1 female and those boys are starting to 'cause trouble' and Big Willie is starting to actively chase them. Little Sister will be all alone in a few weeks, that should be interesting. Too Many Chickens....in Too Little Space!

I love that it's cooler! Nothing done here today though; got home from work at 5:20pm. Chickens running around outside, much happier in the cool.
I'm an idiot! Chicks that were supposed to be Barnvelders are actually Wyandottes, and it took me a while to get over 'intentional blindness' and see them for who they are. Nice chicks, all pullets, but some will be available.
Mary
I love my Wyandottes!

That and maybe somebody else could bring in various buns perhaps? hotdog buns and maybe slider buns perhaps if people want to have my pulled pork on a sandwich versus just taking a fork to it. Also, somebody could volunteer to bring drinks there as well.

I'm half convinced that if Amy ever did join the message board here, she would end up running Chickenstock. She would even end up scheduling when we would do our annual chicken chase. ;)
