Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Our 'rain-free zone' almost held strong, but we got just under 0.2" all weekend, total. It's damp, at least.
I've been looking for a barn cat replacement too, and calls to shelters haven't even turned any up! The neighbors who had semi-feral cats reproducing all the time have moved away, thank God, but no other cats have arrived.
And if ten appear tomorrow, I'll know who to blame!

We are being overrun with chipmunks. Digging everywhere. Indoor cats only. Haven't seen the feral cat lately. What to do?? They have never been this bad!

I got mine from Huron Valley Animal Shelter in Ann Arbor. Made a special trip to get them because there is no adoption fee. I got 2 but sadly Bender was so old and ill that he didn't make it. On the other hand, Hobbes is a true success story. He's about a year old and after the caging/introduction period, he became the golden retriever's BFF. He also got along with the house cats who had never been outside. After a few weeks he started going outside and took the other tom out with him. They have worked out a tag-team thing and have been getting mice and moles on a regular basis. The darn chippies are still just a bit faster than the cats, though.
So I bought a chipmunk trap at TSC. That works like a charm. It's a live trap so there is a bit of SSS. If you know what I mean.

On a side note, the new rescue puppy has taken note of what the cats do and he has caught 2 mice and 2 moles on his own. Maybe when he gets bigger he can handle the coons and fox. :fl

two full pages of rain sighting here lol. On Saturday around 530pm I drove to my sons home in East Lansing. Just sprinkling/mist at my house and a straight shot west to sons house. Driving about five miles east, downpour for three miles. Get to the turn to sons house, totally dry pavement... ! When they say scattered showers they ain't kiddin!

I don't know if I love or hate TSC. I got a coupon for 10% off and I did need dog, cat, and chick feed, so the coupon was welcomed. Saving money is always appreciated. I also wanted to get some pine shaving bales so I could move the orp chicks out of the living room.
Sadly/gladly, they are having "Chick Days" again. A dozen fuzz butts jumped in a box and landed in my cart. So one brooder moved out of the living room and another moved in.
This is what happens when I'm left un-supervised. :gig
