RaZ....you Escaped Metro Detroit!!
...as did I, but much longer ago.
Then I had to escape Kalamazoo...now am out in the boonies on a big enough property to where neighbors are far enough away that they really haven't been a problem.
Same here. I'm at the end of a dead end road. There is an unimproved road that goes back to a lake on state land so I get some traffic but I've gotten to kind of know some of them. I have state land on 3 sides so hunting season sees an uptick of people.

Summer time brings up the city people. I could do without that but it's tolerable. I'm happy to be here.

Haven't made camping plans for next year yet. You made it fun for the grand kids. There's not much to do in Sleeper. Not even a decent park. You gave them a thrill ride that they enjoyed so much. Of course they love the parade.

I'm not really good with kids but I enjoyed riding them in the UTV. I got a kick out of the little one who went from scared to having fun.
FYI, in town there is a place that has bumper boats and a go-kart track.

On the other hand, if they like nature stuff, I can take them on trails and rides and walks through the woods, swamps and shore line. There are glacial formations that are pretty cool and old Native American trails that follow the geographic features. There is even an old quarry just down from my house. It's full of frogs now. I have a couple of old sink-holes on my property that are pretty unusual for the area. I find them fascinating to explore. But then again I am a nature Geek.
