Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

This dirt road is smoother than any paved road in the greater Detroit area.
Maybe because it's a dead end...so not much traffic?
My DD lived on a dead end with turn around, got well taken care of because the road guys parked there at breaks and mealtimes.
Grats on the eggs!

Well.. that was a bit scary! We hit some black ice on one of the back roads. Luckily no one else was on the road with us as we took up both lanes. DH managed to keep it on the road and drive out of it! :th Soooo... be careful out there!

Looks like we are under another winter advisory again tonight, high winds up to 45 mph with rain/freezing rain and snow (1-3") overnight.

If it's not pouring out when I get home I'm going to clean the coop before the cold snap.

OH... and Possum, the rat, had babies last night... 15 of them! I am on a mission to find a cage, saw a few on marketplace, but distance sometimes makes it not worth it.

Yikes and Whew, SC, scary!
Grats on the Rats!

Pouring rain here, well 1/2" in 3 hours. All drains are working well and puddles disappearing in run. Temps will plummet from 50 to freezing this evening. High winds and snow tomorrow.

Think I will change out some bedding in coop, it's awfully damp.

And when are you thinking of doing that?
Probably some time in March I think. I would want it to warm up a little bit before I can set up the brooder in the garage. Most likely on a Thursday as that's my off day but I might try for a Tuesday as well, as I do have every other Tuesday off as well. Depends on how much at the mercy of the hatching schedule I am.

I lost one of my sheep yesterday. It just had to be one of the ewes with a nice fleece too. Not sure when she passed or why, everyone was fine the night before. :hit

We didn't get any snow accumulation, just a dusting. The wind was/is kicking pretty good though! Hope everyone fared the weather.

Bummer SC :( Rough day for you.

Got part of the dampest bedding changed out, spread it on top of garlic mulch which is deep straw so that should filter it out, just before the wind started howling and the temps dropped. We got enough snow to make everything white again, wind is still at it, had a slight brown out last night but power is still on.
